Review: Covergirl Outlast, Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 foundation

Covergirl's latest foundation has been much talked about within the online beauty community and when they were finally launched in Australia, I knew I had to pick it up and try it for myself. I've read and watched countless reviews and demonstrations about this new product and everyone was singing its praise to no end. Many say it reminds them of the Revlon ColorStay foundation but without it being as heavy(which sounded perfect to me!).

Most of you aussie girls will know that makeup in Australia is crazy expensive! The outlast, stay fabulous 3-in-1 foundation retails for AU$19.95 but I picked mine up at AU$13.96 when Priceline had 30% off the Covergirl range. But hey, who am I to complain since Singapore doesn't even carry Covergirl. Anyway, on to the review...

This product claims to be an all-in-one fusing a primer, concealer and foundation. Priceline only carries 6 shades (there are 14 shades available in the U.S.) of light to medium complexions with both yellow and pink undertone options. I was lucky to find a pretty good match in 842 Medium Beige.

Packaging on this product is great because it comes in with a pump. It also has a lock mechanism so you will need to twist the head of the pump to its side to unlock it. Other than that, it comes in a glass bottle with 30ml of product and a clear plastic cap with is quite similar to most drugstore foundation packaging.

My first thoughts on it was that it certainly wears and feels lighter on the skin than colorstay but having said that, the coverage is therefore not as full. I was kind of bumped initially because everyone said it was comparable to ColorStay but alot of my acne and scarring was still visible after applying the foundation. Maybe because I have more marks and acne to cover up, since most of the beauty vloggers on youtube have pretty good skin. Don't get me wrong, I do like this foundation alot! The finish looks really nice but I just need to apply a second or third layer of foundation to make it work for me. It does build up to full coverage which is how I normally like to wear my foundations(and by full coverage, I mean I can do without concealer for my blemishes).

I also notice it helps a little(... just a little) with oil control. Whenever I have this foundation on, I have less shine around my cheeks at the end of the day which is pretty good since I have super oily skin.

Slightly runny consistency.

Easy to blend

Oh and just to quickly mention, this product does have a faint plastic scent when I first apply to my face. It's not so strong that it's off-putting but just take note if you can't stand scented foundations.

Overall, I'd say this is a great product because it actually lives up to its claims. This foundation is best for someone who is looking for a light-weight foundation with medium (buildable to full) coverage. It hasn't knocked ColorStay off the podium yet but it is definitely up there together with it. This is the second foundation from Covergirl that I've tried and I have been loving them so far. Hope you enjoyed this review and let me know what is your holy grail foundation from the drugstore! Thanks for reading.. xoxo!
