First of all, thank you for dropping by my beauty blog.
I've created this blog in the hopes that I can share all thing beauty-related with the wonderful online beauty community out there. And 'maquillage-paradis' is french for 'makeup heaven', not that I know the language or anything. But so many names were already taken up, I had to resort to using a foreign language.
So.. I've only started wearing makeup about 3 years ago(i just turned 26) and it began when my sister came home one day with the e.l.f 100 Eyeshadow Palette. She was so excited about it because she bought it from an online spree at half price, so there was one for her and one for me. I didn't really thought much of it but was still super happy to receive something so colourful and pretty. I had no idea how to use it or when I'd even have the chance to.
She then showed me the rest of her haul(which was all from e.l.f) and told me all about the brand and her new discovery of super affordable makeup. And that was how it all started. Before that, the only makeup I wore was concealer because I have acne-prone skin and was pretty insecure about my complexion. I didn't really wear foundation because I really had no idea about slapping on liquid-y stuff on my face and I never knew youtube had videos on how to apply foundation! Sometimes I would wear liquid eyeliner too, just to distract people from looking at my skin.
I started looking at makeup videos on youtube and reading makeup blogs and then got so 'inspired' I went out and started buying some makeup to experiment with. I got so excited so quickly! The more I watched tutorials and reviews, the more makeup I bought. Then I would be really excited to watch more tutorials to see what looks I can do with my new stash and the cycle would repeat itself. Don't worry though, it was a healthy obsession. I would spend only what I can afford on makeup.
I won't say I'm an expert but it has definitely been a great journey so far. Advisements and claims can sometimes be really effective in making me part with my money just to pay for something which only works for a small group of people, usually those with clear and non-oily skin. Recommendations of people in the online beauty community has helped me along the way and i hope this blog can serve that purpose too.
So that is just my little introduction. Let's hope this works out.. haha! Have a great weekend everyone!
