Bellabox: June 2013

Just a quick rundown of June's bellabox since I'm so late in posting this. The theme this month is 'girls night in, girls night out' with products to pamper yourself at home or to help you create a gorgeous look for a night out.

Here's what came in this month's box...

1. Streetstar Cosmetics streetgloss lip gloss in Neutral Brown 204 (full size) - 7.4g RRP $17.95
2. Emerginc vitamin C + retinol mask (3ml) - 50ml RRP $65
3. Emerginc hyper-vitalizer cream (3ml) - 50ml RRP $99
4. Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse (10ml) - 100ml RRP $39
5. Toni&Guy creative texturising glue (full size) - 100ml RRP $15.99
6. Montagne Jeunesse passion peel off mask (5ml) - 10ml RRP $3.99
7. Brazilian Butterfly assortment (7 x 5ml) - 200ml RRP $18-33
8. *BONUS* Natio nail colour in Valentine (full size) - 15ml RRP $9.95

Total estimated value - $53.70 (prices in AUD)

Super happy to receive makeup as usual and although I'm not really a gloss type of girl, this shade is very wearable on top of another colour or just on its own.

Brush tip applicator with spreads product evenly on the lips.

Nudish beige shade with gold shimmer.

My sister bought this when we were in France earlier this year and it has been working great. More so for the hair than the skin but definitely nice to see bellabox bring in Nuxe. And even the packaging is the same as the full size product, just a mini version!
Great packaging for a sample.

Although I have long hair, I could still use something like this to tame my baby hairs or just give it to the boyfriend. Definitely happy about it being full size.

I've seen this around Priceline but have never tried them. In fact, I've never tried a peel off mask before other than the usual clay or gel/serum types. Really glad to see this in my bellabox.

Thrilled to get a second makeup item! And even though I have more than enough nail polish, I don't have any from Natio so it'll be fun to try it.
I love bonus items! And in such a pretty red too.

Definitely very pleased with this month's box! The items fitted the them really well and I can't wait to try everything especially the face mask. What goodies did bellabox send to you this time? Hope you are enjoying them as much as I am! (:

NOTD: Chi Chi Pearl Bead Manicure

Decided to try out 'caviar nails' since I have nothing to do on this lazy Thursday arvo. Super excited to finally use the Chi Chi Pearl Bead Manicure in Black Diamonds & Pearls. They retail for AU$19.95 in Australia but I bought it when there was a 25% discount.

Today I'm going to create the 'pearl' look using the white polish and silver microbeads from this set.

Finished look (please excuse the messy edges/cuticles)!!

Close up.

Overall, I'm quite pleased with the look. Can't wait to try out the other colours. Hope you enjoyed this short and simple post.. thanks for reading. (:

Lust have it: June 2013

For the first time, I received my Lust have it box before my Bellabox so I was pretty excited about it! It's good that Lust have it is finally doing something about sending out their boxes earlier in the month so that everyone receives it in time before the month is over. Anyway, moving along to the unboxing. This month's box feels kind of light so I was already a little bumped but let's take a look at what's inside.

Light brown floral design for June.

This is what I received this month:
1. Rachel K colour control CC cream in Neutral (4 sachets) - 50ml RRP $39
2. Batiste dry shampoo in Cherry (50ml) - 200ml RRP $9.95
3. Pure Fiji hydrating body lotion in Coconut (not specified) - 354ml RRP $29.95
4. Real Purity natural lipstick in Regal Red (not specified) - RRP US$15
Crown Brush disposable lip brush (no value stated)
5. Doctor Babor derma cellular collagen booster cream (not specified) - 50ml RRP $249

Total estimated value - unknown.

I already own the full size of this CC cream in original (black packaging) since it's a Singapore-based brand. But I'm still really excited to try this sample because the 'neutral' range was a later release and I have yet to try it.

Love the packaging.

Pot sample of the lipstick.
The lip brush is quite poorly constructed and I'd actually rather receive a mini tube lipstick than this duo. Especially since the lipstick isn't very pigmented, applying with my finger or a regular lip brush doesn't give much colour payoff.

To be honest, this month's box didn't impress me. Some of the information on my card was wrong, like the scent for the body lotion and the colour of the lipstick sample. And not even one full size product, tsk tsk.. I'm sure they can do so much better. Plus all the sample didn't state how much product was in it except for the Batiste dry shampoo, which makes it hard for me to calculate the overall value of my box to judge it. The full size of the collagen booster cream is ridiculously expensive, so I'm assuming the 'value' of the box is covered by that sample which makes me feel slightly cheated.

This will be my last box from Lust have it. Definitely was not blown away by their subscription service although it's not entirely bad. However, considering the price tag of AU$19.95.. it's not very worth it in my opinion. If you are subscribed to Lust have it, I would love to hear what you got this month as well as your experience with them so far! Hope you enjoyed reading.. and have a lovely week ahead! xo

Collective haul: 50% off at Chemist Warehouse

I'm back with a haul. Really couldn't resist because most of these items were 50% off! Chemist Warehouse had this offer in their last catalogue and I picked up several lippies. I didn't blog about it because it was almost the last day. To my surprise, the sale is extended until 27th June. So I thought I'll share with you this great news as well as my 'late' haul. (:
Offer ends 27th June.

My haul goodies!
*Disclaimer: I did not get all these products at one go. It was accumulated over 3-4 purchases over the past 2 weeks.*

A similar sale is also going on at My Chemist, plus they have an additional discount on the YSL Touche Eclat and Lancome Hypnose mascara, each at AU$24.99 (that's 50% off!). I only picked up the Touche Eclat because I have way too many mascaras to go through and I just can't justify buying such an expensive one. So definitely check it out if you have a My Chemist outlet near you.
YSL Touche Eclat in no 2.

I definitely went a little lipstick-crazy this time round but please don't judge. Lip products seem to be my new favourite type of makeup to try out lately because they can really pull a look together.
New lippies!

I finally got my hands on 3 of the Maybelline Vivids lipsticks because so many people have been raving about them on Youtube. The shades I got were Fuchsia Flash (902), Shocking Coral (910) and Vibrant Mandarin (914).
Left to right: Fuchsia Flash, Shocking Coral, Vibrant Mandarin.

I also went ahead and grabbed 3 of the Lasting Finish by Kate lipsticks from Rimmel, two long-wearing (black tube) in 07 and 20 and one matte finish (red tube) in the shade 103. Love the packaging of this line of lipsticks!

Left to right: 07, 20, 103.

Picked up one of the Revlon Colorstay ultimate suede lipstick in Trendsetter. I love this lipstick because it stays on my lips all day. Also got a w7 bronzer, which isn't on offer but I needed a matte bronzer so I got it anyway as it was very inexpensive. The Maybelline Eyestudio quad in Copper Chic was something that emilynoel83 featured in one of her rose gold "color lovers" series and since I love rose gold, I just had to get it.

Priceline was also having a great sale last week and they released the new Covergirl outlast, stay fabulous 3-in-1 foundation! There was 30% off the entire Covergirl range so I picked one up, as well as a creme foundation by Savvy that was half-price.

If you are in Australia, definitely check out Chemist Warehouse if you're interested to pick up some Revlon, Maybelline and Rimmel products (their offer is extended till 27th June). What new drugstore items did you pick up recently? I'd love to hear your recommendations! Thanks for reading.. (:

Review: Chi Chi Glamourous Eye Shadow Collection - RICH GEMS palette

Hi everyone! first of all, let me apologise for the absence. I was busy with final exams the past 2 weeks so I really didn't have time to sit and blog(let alone swatch). But that's over now so I'm back finally with my next review!

As mentioned in my last post, I will be talking about the Chi Chi Rich Gems palette!

It has the same plastic packaging with the clear top and the palette name in silver on it. Also comes with 2 double-sided sponge tip applicators. This palette has a great variety of colours ranging from purples to greens to golds/bronzes. I think they named this palette very appropriately seeing that all the shades have a satin-y finish (i.e no matte shades) and the colours are just so 'rich' and bold!

Whole palette swatched.

Here is a close-up of the swatches. Again, the swatches are from left to right in the palette since there are no shades for the individual shades.

I'm not sure if you can tell from the swatches but the greens and blue is the least pigmented of the lot. Wouldn't say they are terrible but you will need to work on them abit to get an intense pay-off(i.e. how it looks in the pan). Otherwise, 1 or 2 swipes is only sufficient to get an overall wash of colour on the lid. Still, they are very pretty, specifically the 2nd colour from the left. It almost looks like it has a duo-chrome effect when swatched. The rest of the shades are amazingly pigmented(especially the purple!).

For the price, I really think this palette is very good value. And just to recap, I bought 2 of the Glamourous palettes for AU$34.50 when Myer had a "buy 1, get 50% off second product" offer. Each palette retails for AU$22.95. Definitely also look out for offers on Chi Chi at Target and Gloss, they seem to always have some kind of sale going on.

So there you have it! You can also check out my review on their Bases palette. I hope this review helps some of you out there. Do leave a comment if you have any questions about this palette or just share with me your thoughts on it! Thanks for reading. (:
